Alissa Gomez

Alissa Rubin Gomez is a Lecturer of Lawyering Skills & Strategies. Prior to joining the University of Houston Law Center, Professor Gomez served for six years as the Executive Director of Houston Volunteer Lawyers, the non-profit legal aid arm of the Houston Bar Association, which provides free legal services to over 12,000 Houstonians each year. Before that, Professor Gomez was a commercial litigation associate and then partner in the Houston office of King & Spalding LLP. Professor Gomez was the first woman associate elected partner from the Houston office of King & Spalding, and Texas Monthly named her a “Texas Rising Star” in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010.
