Jay Madrid is a litigator and mediator with the Dallas office of Dorsey & Whitney. He represents banks, real estate developers, trustees and executors, majority and minority shareholders, directors and officers and small business owners in a wide variety of commercial disputes.
Jay has worked extensively in the pharmaceutical, financial, real estate, health care, environmental and corporate worlds and industries. Over his long career, he has had extensive experience in all stages of litigation, including both trial and appellate, as well as litigation in administrative settings and all types of alternative dispute resolution.
Mr. Madrid has represented clients in federal and state courts throughout the United States with consistently favorable results. In addition to his legal work, he designed Dallas County’s Court Annexed mediator training program. This program has served as a model for several other metropolitan areas, both within Texas and in other states. He has also helped train more than 1,000 attorneys as mediators in California, Louisiana and Texas.
Jay received BA from Texas Western College, attended the University of Texas Law School and Southern Methodist University, Dedman School of Law.
