Lawyers who practice in criminal law are much more inclined to draw Grievance Complaints than those who practice in other areas, except personal injury and family law. It is likely that during our professional careers we will receive a grievance. Most grievances received by the State Bar involve these three areas of practice. Every criminal law practitioner should be familiar with the Texas Rules of Disciplinary Procedure and should know what to expect when faced with a grievance complaint.
