Robert A. Prentice is the Ed & Molly Smith Professor of Business Law at the McCombs School of Business, University of Texas at Austin. He came to UT in 1980 and is Chair of the new Business, Government & Society Department and Faculty Director of the Business Honors Program.
Professor Prentice’s research interests include business ethics, securities regulation, and the legal and ethical environment of accounting. He has won numerous teaching awards and is a member of the University of Texas’s Academy of Distinguished Teachers, as well as a recipient of the Texas Board of Regents Teaching Excellence Award.
Professor Prentice has published more than 60 law review articles in such journals as the Duke Law Journal, Northwestern University Law Review, Cornell Law Review, Georgetown Law Journal, and the American Business Law Journal. He has written several textbooks about basic business law, business organizations, securities regulation, and accounting ethics. He recently served on the editorial board of the Business Ethics Quarterly and has published articles in that journal as well as in the Journal of Business Ethics Education.
