Beverly Bell Godbey is a Trial Partner in the Dallas office of Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP. Her practice over the past 34 years has emphasized commercial litigation, including insurance coverage, bad faith, ERISA, deceptive trade practices, non-subscriber and products liability. Ms. Godbey graduated Magna Cum Laude from Southern Methodist University in 1979, with a degree in foreign languages, and received her Juris Doctor from Tulane Law School in 1982. A past president of both the Dallas Bar Association and the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers, she also served as Chair of the Dallas Bar Foundation in 2015. In addition, she is a past Chair of the State Bar of Texas Board of Directors and the current Vice-Chair of the Texas Center for Legal Ethics Board of Trustees. An avid supporter of fundraising for pro bono legal services to the poor, Ms. Godbey has received various awards for her volunteer work, including the Equal Access to Justice Rainmaker Award, the Pro Bono Appreciation Award, the Jurisprudence Award from the Anti-Defamation League, and most recently, the Fellow Justinian Award, which will be conferred by the Dallas Bar Foundation in April of 2017.
