Many lawyers assume that there is a tension between civility and zealous advocacy — that treating opposing counsel with civility hampers their ability to zealously represent their clients. But is that a valid assumption? Are civility and advocacy really two ends of the spectrum? Is it a zero-sum game? A panel of lawyers and judges explores how civility does not diminish zealous advocacy but can actually enhance it.
